Yorke grew up in Oxfordshire and attended the Abingdon School, where he met future Radiohead bandmates Ed O’Brien, Phil Selway, and brothers Colin and Jonny Greenwood. The band initially formed under the name On A Friday and played together throughout their high school years, before changing their name to Radiohead and signing a recording contract with EMI in 1991.
Radiohead’s debut album, “Pablo Honey,” was released in 1993 and featured the hit single “Creep,” which became an international success. The band’s subsequent albums, including “The Bends” (1995), “OK Computer” (1997), and “Kid A” (2000), cemented their reputation as one of the most innovative and influential rock bands of their era.
