His birth name is Frank Carlton Serafino Feranna Jr. but he is better known by his stage name, Nikki Sixx. He is best known as the bassist and co-founder of the heavy metal bands Motley Crue and Sixx:A.M.

Sixx grew up in Seattle and later moved to Los Angeles in the late 1970s to pursue a career in music. In 1981, he co-founded the band Motley Crue along with Tommy Lee, Mick Mars, and Vince Neil. The band quickly gained fame for their wild live performances and party lifestyle.

Motley Crue released several successful albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including “Shout at the Devil,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” and “Dr. Feelgood.” They also became known for their controversial behavior both on and offstage, including drug and alcohol abuse, which Sixx himself struggled with for many years.

In addition to his work with Motley Crue, Sixx has also pursued a successful solo career and formed the band Sixx:A.M. in 2007. He has also written several books, including the memoir “The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star” and the photography book “This Is Gonna Hurt.”
