Corgan’s career journey can be traced back to the 1980s when he began playing in various local bands in Chicago.

In 1987, Corgan formed The Smashing Pumpkins with James Iha and D’arcy Wretzky. The band gained popularity in the 1990s with the release of their albums “Gish” (1991) and “Siamese Dream” (1993), both of which received critical acclaim. In 1995, The Smashing Pumpkins released “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness,” a double album that became a commercial and critical success, earning the band seven Grammy Award nominations. The album’s lead single, “Bullet with Butterfly Wings,” won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance.

The Smashing Pumpkins continued to release successful albums throughout the 1990s, including “Adore” (1998) and “Machina/The Machines of God” (2000), before disbanding in 2000. Corgan later formed the short-lived bands Zwan and Spirits in the Sky before embarking on a solo career.

In 2005, Corgan released his first solo album, “TheFutureEmbrace,” which received mixed reviews. He then reunited with The Smashing Pumpkins in 2006 and released the album “Zeitgeist” the following year. The band has since released several more albums, including “Oceania” (2012) and “Monuments to an Elegy” (2014).
